Capitola is a beach city in Santa Cruz County of California. It is part of the Monterey Bay and has a population of about ten thousand, a little less or more, depending of the population changes since the last census which happened in 2010. The city of Capitola was documented as being settled upon somewhere in the 50s of the 19th century, eventually becoming part of California. One of the strangest things to ever happen was a particular summer in 1961, when the city residents found themselves under attack by a large group of Sooty Shearwaters. Alfred Hitchcock even made a movie about this event.
